We, at Birla Senior Secondary School, Pilani, stand committed to impart Quality Education,
the holistic development of children and the realization of their potentiality to the maximum.

  • Hostel Rules


  • All boarders are to be compulsorily provided with School and Hostel uniforms and all other items as per the list. In case of any deficiency or when otherwise considerd essential for the student, the same will be arranged and the cost will have to be borne by the parents/guardians.
  • Students are not allowed to keep cash, jewellery or any costly items with them in the hostel. No cash should, therefore, be given or sent to them directly.Food packets from homes are also discouraged in case such packets are received, they are distributed among boarders or the students room mates at the discretion of the Housemaster/Housemother.
  • Each boarder in the Rajasthan Hostel is alloted a roomon the sharing basis and is individually  responsible for the furniture and fittings of the room. Before leaving for the summer vacations the boarders will get their rooms checked by the housemasters . Damages if any, to the furniture and fittings will be recovered from them .
  • Damages to the school property and the loss of library books are to be compensated  by the parents.
  • Boarders are expected to keep their rooms neat and tidy and ant type of disfiguring of walls, doors or windows will be strictly dealt with.
  • Use of room heater, radios, T.V., Mobile and such other electronic gadgets is prohibited. All such items will be confiscated under intimation to the parents.
  • Boarder must not remove any electrical fittings, lights, bulbs, fans etc. from the Hostel/School. Any violation will be strictly dealt with.
  • Boarders must not remove any games material or journals from the common room. they are ment for use in the common room itself.
  • Boarders shall take their meals in the common dinning hall and should be properly dressed at the meal times. Mess utensils are not allowed to be taken out of the Dinning hall. Only vegetarian meals will be served.
  • Students are not permitted to purchase anything on credit from shopkeepers and hawkers. Those found purchasing things from outsiders on credit are liable to be expelled from the school.
  • Formation of the societies, associations or clubs and holding of meetings other than routine periodic cultural meetings of the hostels is strictly prohibited.
  • The School has arranged buses to carry the students from Rajasthan Hostel to the school and back. The boarders have to travel in these buses only.

    At the Senior Secondary level (Class XI to XII) boys have the option to offer the following streams:-
    SCIENCE STREAM: 
    Physics, Chemistry,. Mathematics, Economics, Biology, Information Practice, English, Sanskrit, Physical Education, Computer Science and Bio-Technology.
    COMMERCE STREAM:
    Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics, Mathematics, English, Sanskrit, Informatics Practice and Physical Education.
    At the Secondary stage  the scheme of studies is strictly in accordance with the scheme of the Central Board of Secondary Education. Students will study languages i.e. English, Hindi and Sanskrit in addition to Mathematics, Science, Social Science besides Work-Experience, Art Education and Physical & Health Education. Work Experience: Students of class VI to VIII can opt for any two subjects and students of class IX to X may select any one of the following: Work-Experience, Wood Craft, Metal Craft, Clay Modeling, Music. General Computer is compulsory for all (Except the student of class XI and XII who do not opt IP).
    Art Education:
    As part of the Art Education, students can opt for Art, Painting, Music, Drama and a number of other co-curricular activities-performing Arts & Creative Expression.
    Examination:
    The School follows a system of regular and continuous evaluation. Weekly and Terminal Tests are held and promotion of the next higher class is based on the cumulative achievement of a student at the end of the year.
    School Activity:
    The School lays stress on the all round development of the pupil and with this aim co-curricular activities such as Debates, Dramas, Recitation, Essay Competition, Gita-Ramayana Examination and celebration of important festivals are provided. Besides, a wide range of Hobbies such as Science Club Activities, Areo Modeling, Duke of Edinburgh Scheme, Scouting, NCC, Music, Painting etc. are also available.
    Physical Education:
    The School has extensive playgrounds, courts and  where all the students are given ample opportunity to take part in Hockey, Football, Cricket, Basketball and other out-door games. In-door games such as Table Tennis, Chess, Carom etc. are also provided in the Hostel. The School  also has state of art Skating rink, Swimming pool and Multi Gymnasium.
    School Terms and Holiday:
    The School session is divided into two terms. The first term is from April to October and the second term is from November to March.

    Important Instructions

    1. Address for correspondence must be written clearly. Any change in their must be intimated to the School Office. All information regarding the Scholastic Level Assessment will be sent to the latest address registered with us.
    2. Eligibility : At the time of seeking admission for a particular class, the boy must be studying
    (A) One class lower (B) He must strictly meet the age requirements.
    3. The School reserves the right to refuse permissions to take the Entrance Assessment without giving any reason.
    4. The Registration Fee is not Refundable in any case.
    5. The acceptance of the registration form & fee is no guarantee that the boy will be admitted and it does not involve the school in any obligation to admit the boy.
    6. This form together with a Bank Draft as mentioned in the fee leaflet drawn in favour of “Principal Birla School Pilani” payable at Pilani (UCO/SBI/SBBJ/BOI/ICICI/YES/AXIS/PNB) Banks at Pilani should be sent as early as possible.
    All correspondence regarding admission should be addressed to the Principal Birla School Pilani, PILANI -Rajasthan,Pin Code 333031 to receive prompt attention in a cover super scribed Admission on the left hand cover.
    The lower age limit for admission to Class I is 5 years. Similarly co-relation of age and the class to which admission is sought is a must. Birth Certificate from the Municipal Board or a recognised Institution will be required as proof of age. Boys only will be asked to withdraw from school if at any stage it is found that the proof of age submitted is not correct

    School Rules

  • Names for admissions are registered throughout the year. However, registration of a student is no guarantee for his admission.
  • The minimum age for admission to Class I is 5 years.
    Date of Birth, as recorded in the previous school leaving certificate, counter-signed by the District Education Officer of the State, will be considered final and no application for change in the date of birth will be entertained.
  • Children are eligible for admission to class I to IX and XI.
  • Admission to class I to IX are made in January to March every year on the basis of availability of seats and subject to clearing of admission test in Hindi, English, Mathematics (for I to IX).
  • Admissions to Class XI will be made on merit i.e. on the basis of the marks secured in the Secondary Examinations of the Boards.
  • Provisional admission to the class XI is also given in the month of March on the basis of marks obtained by the student in the preboard followed by a test conducted by the School. The provisional admission is confirmed when a School Leaving Certificate from the school last attended, Countersigned by the District Education Officer is produced. In case such a Certificate is not submitted within 15 days of admission, the scholar’s  name may be removed from the rolls of the school.
  • All Admission tests will be conducted at Pilani and other places as notified.
  • If a boy is declared fit for admission, the guardian is required to deposit the school fees for the first term immediately, failing which his selection would be treated as cancelled.
  • A student is liable for his name to be removed at any stage if any entry in the admission form is to be found incorrect.

    Junior Section

    Junior Section with its hostel depicts a true picture of microcosm of our pluralistic society with heterogenic elements involved in its built up, while developing sound character, team spirit, dedication to duty, hi-tech outlook and desire to exel in life with efficiency,the School Provides an ideal environment for the devolopment of inherent potential and concentration of the mind. We believe that this is not just a school, but extension of  home.
    A HOME AWAY FROM HOME
    Junior Section always focus on different aspects of education followed by the activities. Junior Section has a trained, dedicated faculty members who burn thier midnight Oil on everyday. They are the amalgamation of good work, disciplane and puntuality. We have most modern innovative teaching techniques having healthy teacher-student ratio. World class academic standard always lure the learners mind towards the optimum level of knowledge and understanding. The focus is on the reinforcement and endorsement of a child’s capability through many-fold activities and learning exercises. Our medium of instruction is exclusively English which is globally accepted as international language. Our teaching environment is based on love, affection and motherly touch. Junior Section has exellent boarding facilities for students who are accommodated in large, spacious rooms which are very conducive to concentration nd studies.
    We have a very big dining hall which can accommodate at least 200 students at a time. The food served in the school is strictly vegiterian. The diet served is well balanced from the nutritional point of view and as per requirement of the essential calories and vitamins as designed and directed by professional dietcian. Junior Section has its own well-stoked resource centre having books on different subjects. A wide collection of CDs offering intellectual food to both teachers and taught a like.
    Our Art and Craft department is guided by specialized faculty members who always guide learners for artistic creativity. Music, which is considered as rhythm of life is guided by our very experienced faculty member. Junior Section has its own band equipments. Our band always added an extra charm to any occasion of our school. Our Computer centre is well decorated for the junior children, who can came at any time and search the new discoveries of the world. It is mandatory for every budding learners to familier with Computer. Our students will enjoy NET turn very shortly.
    School science lab always satisfies inquistiveness of our students. School examination system follows the CBSE norms. I to V we have our CCET system. From VI onwords examination is conducted at every alternative month besides half yearly and Annual examination. School is a robust believer that without games and sports all round devolopment is not possible. A small playground cum amusement park creates a great spirit, energy and vitality among the students. Games and sports nourished the body and mind of the atudents. we have amenities of swimming pool and horse riding. Our Medical centre has become a six bedded small hospital where doctor visits in every morning. Our semi trained doctor is vigilant on round the clock. “Traveling makes a wise man” that is why school conducts educational tour at the fag end of the acadminc session. Students visit different kinds of places of interest escorted by the teachers. Safety and Security ia a part of our attention. Each and every child is safe and secured at the hand of our trained security guars. Many more are under the pipline like rock climbing, mountainieering, rescue operations, river crossing and rafting boating Para sailing, gliding etc. These are all to be introduced for devoloping the spirit of adventure of the students.

    Birla School Pilani (Birla Sr. Sec. School) is a prestigious residential English medium school, approved by central and state governments. The school is managed by the distinguished Birla Education Trust with adequate resources provided by the birla parivar in terms of highly qualified and dedicated staff, well equipped laboratories, rich library with constantly enriching additions, modern education technology which makes learning a pleasure and a source of happiness, vast play grounds covering an area of over 20 acres, almost all games & sports facilities, most modern computer lab, state-of-arts swimming pool and multi gym.

    Birla Hostel

    Birla Hostel  provides a natural and secure abode to blossoming children, providing a homely care to each individual.
    The Birla hostel is located in the Residential Campus of the school(Jr. Section). The Complex has well-maintained lush green gardens and is surrounded by concrete walls. Round-the-clock security ensures a safe haven for the students.
    The hostel facility in Birla Hostel  is available exclusively for boys from class I to VII. The students are placed in dormitories in accordance to their age. They follow a prescribed schedule which is strictly adhered to in order to bring about discipline in their routine and create a healthy routine for a lifetime. It starts with the Jogging in the morning and ends with evening sports and special subject coaching.
    Their weekends are scheduled with unlimited fun & frolic with indoor & outdoor  cultural programmes, campfire, adventure outings, picnics & leisure hours. Hostel Warden, House Masters are at the complex round-the-clock ensuring utmost attention.
    Accommodation for  Teachers, Medical Attendant and Emergency Staff is also provided close to children’s hostel. This results in a homely atmosphere across the complex and a secure and reassuring environment for children.

    Rajasthan Hostel

    A View of Rajasthan Hostel – Birla School Pilani
    The school has two hostels, namely Birla Hostel and Rajasthan Hostel. The students from class I to VII, i.e. the Junior Section, are accommodated separately in the Birla Hostel. While the students of class VIII to XII are housed in different houses separated in forms of blocks in the Rajasthan Hostel. Accommodation is provided in different houses keeping in view class, age and other relevant factors of the student to ensure his comfortable stay in the hostel. The hostel provides state of the art well furnished, spacious rooms on twin sharing basis with beautiful lawns and healthy and peaceful surroundings. The E-learning centre of the hostel provides required tech-savvy learning through advance CAL process to the resident students. In-house STD/PCO is also available to meet communication needs of the students.
    The hostels have common recreation rooms provided with suitable indoor games, newspaper and periodicals. The hostels are equipped with modern sanitary arrangements and all other amenities required by the resident students. A state of the art swimming pool has been constructed where all the students are taught swimming under the guidance of a qualified and experienced swimming coach and trained life-saving-guards. In addition to this,a  modern and advanced Gym has been provided to take care of the physical health of the students under the trained instructors. To facilitate spiritual upliftment of the students, yoga classes, Aradhana and Pravachans are regularly held in the campus.
